Bahamas: The Exumas

365 islands chained together provide fun for the whole family. The low-slung, sandy cays, and strikingly clear waters will have you instantly relaxed. With 30 feet of brilliantly blue water, you can see straight to the bottom counting every fish and coral head that you pass. Each Exuma Island presents its own unique attraction, from the lizards on Allen’s Cay, to relaxing in the protected Warderick Wells, petting nurse sharks in Compass Cay, splashing with swimming pigs, or hiding away in Thunderball Grotto near Staniel Cay. Whether dining in gourmet restaurants on private islands or indulging in fun local bars, there is an adventure on every shore. As a celebrity hot spot, some have even bought their own private island in this archipelago. Find your own adventure ashore The Exumas via your luxury yacht charter.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1 - Paradise Island to Highbourne Cay

Set sail to Highbourne Cay. A short tender ride away is Allen’s Cay where you can enjoy the local wildlife, as this is home to many large Rock Iguanas. Or stick around Highbourne, and hike to The Spring for sweeping sunset views.

Day 2 - Highbourne Cay to Shroud Cay

Take a morning plunge at the 75-foot Exuma Wall or head to Norman’s Cay. Here you can snorkel above a sunken airplane, or have a relaxing day on the beach. Later, enjoy dinner under the stars on the uninhabited island of Shroud Cay.

Day 3 - Shroud Cay to Warderick Wells

Take in the fresh air as you enjoy an al fresco breakfast. Discover a variety of birds, lobsters, fish, and sea turtles by taking a tour of the island’s tidal creek. Once at Warderick Wells, don’t miss your chance to go to Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park. Explore the seven miles of trails along the shore, and even find the skeleton of a 53-foot sperm whale.

Day 4 - Warderick Wells to Staniel Cay

Wake up to your arrival at Bell’s Cay where you can anticipate diving at the Aquarium site, or pet friendly nurse sharks in Compass Cay. Soak in a 360-degree view of the sunset with dinner and cocktails at Fowl Cay’s Hill House restaurant. Continue the evening by stopping into the popular Staniel Cay Yacht Club bar.

Day 5 - Staniel Cay

Explore the famous Bond hideout, Thunderball Grotto, where you can feed a myriad of fish. Pass by the colorful waterfront cottages that line the shores of Staniel Cay on your way to Big Major’s Spot where you can splash on the beach with the famed swimming pigs.

Day 6 - Staniel Cay to Paradise Island

This is the perfect spot to enjoy your favorite watersport whether it be jet skis, wakeboarding, or tubing. Making your way back to Paradise Island, stop off at Nobu for lunch before returning.
